4. You asked me to give you an idea about fromer work and about future projects?
I did put up an image of
Sans Souci an older piece which is ad-dressing history that I let come close to
my skin. The front material is photosensitized linnen, the back is cotton
embroidered with gold thread and pearls.
Assuming all those different
identities as artist, I continuously develop further thoughts about presence,
presentation and representation in it's ways that it links or touches issues that come close to my skin.
Creating these different ad-dresses I slip into another
house/personality/identity, where each passage through my body and dress can
represent different ideas. Each material I connect with, teaches me its own
language, tells me it's own story. Silk narrates about transition, whispers
metamorphosis or detachment, wool murmurs about warmth, nature,
earth, protection, enclosure. Cotton deduces blooming and aging,
ripeness and maturity and vulnerability, linen suffers from its roots, its strength and
endurance. The more further I move into something that is elegantly called the
"global village" I ask, is the original idea of home such an antiquated one in
the age of high tech? Who will actually live in this "Global Village" that
everybody is talking about? I love to watch flowers and trees grow and
how about this for a change, grow
inside through a lot of letters and leaves, that are going to collect a lot more sun or
light and produce more air to breath. The sun is rising outside and most windows have grown
little icy flowers on the windows. I guess I am going to take a little walk now.
